Who is an NDEC Volunteer?

An NDEC volunteer is one who is:

  • A dedicated individual

  • Committed to understanding the diverse learning needs of students

  • Capable of displaying a high level of patience and tolerance

  • Accepting of and interested in helping culturally and linguistically diverse students  from the Boston community

By embracing the mission of the Center, our volunteers channel their enthusiasm for learning and their desire to give of themselves towards our students.

Americorps Volunteers

Notre Dame Americorps Volunteers are young men and women who give at least one year of service to NDEC teaching in the Adult Literacy, GED, and ESOL programs. They are an integral and dynamic part of the learning process of the students and bring to the Center the gifts of their passion, their energy, and their laughter.
